I also have experience working in an Emergency Room focused on crisis intervention. These settings have included the public school system, a Maryland County health department, outpatient private practice, and a psychiatric inpatient/outpatient hospital setting. In my years as a social worker, I have worked with children and adolescents in both the public and private agency settings. I meet the client where they are at which is where Solution-Focused and the Strength’s Based approaches are most powerful. With that said, I believe it is important to remember that each client is different, and their needs and preferences cannot be overlooked. This means that I have worked with the client to recognize the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and their behaviors and establish how things in their life can be different with change. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on emphasizing the client’s strengths, have been the approach throughout these settings. I believe in utilizing a variety of treatment modalities to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Theory, and Strength’s-Based therapies as my approach to mental health treatment. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) which is focused in assisting the individual as they process their trauma and grief. I currently hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the same institution and possess an LMSW licensure. I received my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Salisbury University with a minor in Psychology. I am a Maryland licensed social worker and have been providing therapy for children and adults since 2014.
